The Haka :

The Haka is a very traditional dance form of the Maori of New Zealand, very impressive with shouts and gestures. The most well-known haka is "Ka Mate". It involves fierce facial expressions and grimaces. I love the Haka, I'm always impatient before going to see them play !

Here's a video of the Haka :

Ringa pakia

Uma tiraha

Turi whatia

Hope whai ake

Wae wae takahia kia kino

Ka Mate ! Ka Mate !

Ka Ora ! Ka Ora !

Tenei te ta ngata

puhuru huru Nana nei i tiki mai

Whakawhiti te ra

A upane ka upane !

A upane kaupane whiti te ra !

Hi !

They are now more than 600 000 live in New Zealand and represent a significant part of the culture and history.

The practice most surprising Maori, these are amazing tattoos that cover the entire head and chin of men women.
These tattoos are called "Moko" or "Ta Moko".

The first thing you'll probably find the Maori in New Zealand are the necklaces and pendants which literally flourished in all the tourist shops. The grades are highly variable, generally the pendants are made of bone, paua (shellfish) or jade.
